MEET DAVID O’NEIL
David O’Neil is a Williamson County Commissioner representing District 6. He retired in 2024 after more than thirty years of service with the Brentwood Police Department, retiring as the Captain of the Criminal Investigation Division. He has also practiced law since 2008.
Throughout his career, David has served in roles requiring careful judgment, accountability, and a strong understanding of how law, policy, and public service intersect. His experience in law enforcement leadership and legal practice has shaped a practical and measured approach to decision making that he brings to his work on the County Commission.
David believes good government begins with listening, understanding the facts, and making decisions that are thoughtful and fair. He approaches issues with a focus on long term solutions rather than short term politics, and believes county government should operate with transparency and fiscal responsibility.
As a County Commissioner, David works to balance growth with quality of life, support strong public safety and schools, and ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely. His goal is to help keep Williamson County a safe, well managed, and desirable place to live.
Outside of public service, David enjoys spending time with his family and staying active in the community. He also coaches at Music City Boxing, where he works with young people to build discipline, confidence, and respect.
David is proud to serve District 6 and remains committed to listening to residents and representing their interests on the County Commission.
