VISION
A Practical Approach to Serving Brentwood and Williamson County
David O’Neil’s vision for Brentwood and Williamson County is grounded in responsible leadership, careful planning, and a strong commitment to the people who live here. As one of the County Commissioners representing District 6, his focus is on protecting the quality of life that makes our community such a desirable place to live while ensuring the county is prepared for continued growth.
He believes good government starts with listening, studying the facts, and making decisions that are thoughtful, transparent, and fiscally responsible.
Responsible Growth and Planning
Brentwood and Williamson County continues to grow, and that growth must be managed wisely. David supports responsible development that considers traffic, infrastructure, schools, and the long-term impact on neighborhoods.
Growth should enhance the community, not overwhelm it. Planning must be deliberate, data-driven, and focused on preserving the character of the areas residents call home.
Public Safety and Community Protection
Public safety is a core responsibility of county government. David brings decades of experience in law enforcement and public service to his role on the County Commission. He retired in 2024 after more than thirty years with the Brentwood Police Department, including service as a Captain in the Criminal Investigations Division.
He supports strong, well-equipped public safety agencies and believes first responders should have the resources and support they need to serve the community effectively. At the same time, he believes public safety funding should be handled responsibly, with careful planning and accountability to taxpayers.
As the county grows, David supports long-term public safety planning that ensures staffing, facilities, and response capabilities keep pace with demand while maintaining high standards of professionalism and service.
Strong Schools and Community Services
Strong schools are essential to the success of Brentwood and Williamson County. David supports policies that protect educational quality and ensure growth does not outpace the resources needed to serve students and families.
He also supports maintaining reliable county services that residents depend on every day, including emergency services, infrastructure, and public facilities.
Traffic and Infrastructure
Traffic and congestion remain a top concern for District 6 residents. David supports practical, long-term transportation planning that improves traffic flow, enhances safety, and keeps infrastructure aligned with growth.
Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability
David’s background as an attorney and former law enforcement executive gives him a strong understanding of how policy decisions translate into real-world outcomes. He believes county government works best when decisions are legally sound, clearly defined, and implemented with transparency and accountability.
A Commitment to Service
David approaches his role as County Commissioner with the same principles that guided his career in law enforcement and law, preparation, fairness, and accountability.
He remains committed to listening to residents, asking the right questions, and making decisions that serve the long-term interests of Brentwood and Williamson County.
